Weather and Ocean Impacts for Ventura County

Ventura County will experience a combination of dangerous heat and hazardous ocean conditions over the next few days.

Weather: Hot and humid conditions are expected to intensify Wednesday and Thursday. An Extreme Heat Warning will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday through 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with temperatures ranging from the upper 80s near the coast to as high as 108 degrees in the hottest inland areas. Temperatures are expected to gradually cool Friday and into the weekend.

Ocean conditions: A Coastal Flood Advisory and High Surf Advisory remain in effect for Ventura County beaches through 11:00 p.m. Tuesday. Breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet, with localized sets up to 8 feet, are expected along with strong, potentially life-threatening rip currents. Coastal flooding, beach erosion and flooding of low-lying beaches, walkways, parking lots and roads may occur near high tide, particularly between Oxnard and Point Mugu.
