Ventura County will see very hot weather through Friday, with temperatures over 100°F possible in many inland areas. Wednesday is expected to be the hottest day of the current heat wave, with temperatures reaching their highest levels across Ventura County.  Overnight temperatures will stay warm, providing little relief from the heat and increasing the risk of heat-related illness. Fire danger will also be high in many mountain and foothill areas through Friday. High surf and dangerous rip currents are expected through Thursday due to swells from Tropical Storm Iselle. There is also a small chance of showers and thunderstorms from Thursday through Friday. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly this weekend, bringing much-needed relief from the heat.

A Red Flag Warning is also in effect for Ventura County’s interior mountains and adjacent foothills through Friday at 3:00 PM. Extreme heat, very low humidity, dry conditions, and locally gusty winds will increase the potential for rapid wildfire growth and extreme fire behavior.
