EXTENDED HEAT EVENT
Ventura County will stay hot and muggy today as moisture from Tropical Storm Iselle lingers offshore. A few thunderstorms are possible well offshore, but the chance of rain in Ventura County remains low. Expect more sunshiine this afternoon, but humidity will stay high, making for another warm and uncomfortable day. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly this weekend, bringing much-needed relief from the heat.
A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for Ventura County’s interior mountains and adjacent foothills through today at 3:00 PM. Extreme heat, very low humidity, dry conditions, and locally gusty winds will increase the potential for rapid wildfire growth and extreme fire behavior.
